We are seeking an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our dynamic team in the Construction industry. This is a permanent position offering the opportunity to work with a dedicated team of professionals. You will be responsible for managing important accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and reconciliation. If you are an organized individual with a keen eye for detail and a passion for numbers, we would love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring all financial transactions are processed accurately and promptly.
- Perform monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card accounts.
- Utilize Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel, to create, manage, and maintain necessary accounting reports and records.
- Proactively communicate with subcontractors to obtain necessary documentation such as W-9 forms.
- Assist with other administrative accounting functions as needed, including financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations and stay updated with industry trends and changes.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to improve financial processes and systems.
- Provide support to the accounting department during audits or during period-end closing.
- Maintain accurate and complete financial records, and ensure all accounting procedures are followed.
Qualifications:
- 1 year of experience in an accounting role, preferably within the Construction industry.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
- Experience with accounts payable and receivable, as well as reconciliation.
- A proven track record of working with subcontractors to obtain necessary documentation.
- Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work well in a team environment.
- Knowledge of current accounting regulations and standards.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
